ID Demo v5

As if Taylor Swift's renowned influential letter isn't already the Apple Music story of the year, all of us on the wiki are in for a surprise.

Earlier today, Zedd released an instrumental demo of an unreleased track of his via the platform. The three-minute fifty-second demo was accompanied by this message:

GUYS!!! Here is a track demo I’ve produced that I LOVE but never finished. I haven’t been able to find the perfect vocal and I want your help!! Send me your ideas to: ConnectWithZedd@zedd.net!! Let’s Connect!!!! :) – Anton

Don't see where I'm going with this?

Well, let me tell you then!

What if we, the Zedd Wiki, came up with some suggestions? I mean, chances that one of our vocalists will get chosen are unfortunately low (*looks away for a brief moment*)...but just being involved in the process, in my eyes, sounds like it could be real cool. And aren't wikis all about collaboration?

Listen to the demo as many times as needed, then post your thoughts below!

By this point, I've listened to the demo at least five times and am currently listening to it even more than that. Here are my two suggestions so far:

  • Julia Michaels. I can definitely imagine her as being the vocalist for this. I know she's already sung Straight Into the Fire and Daisy, but her vocals are strong and powerful, just like the demo.
  • Another unknown. Who, I don't know for sure yet, so I'll be spending the next few days searching up cover song artists on YouTube.

How about Jess Glynne

Actually, the demo reminds me of a song called How You Love Me by 3LAU and Zedd's frequent collaborator Bright Lights. It's been a while since her and Zedd had done something together, so I thought, why not? If Zedd chooses her as the demo's vocalist, it will be like an update of How You Love Me, and also their first collaboration in 3 years.

I am re-opening this thread because "I Wish I Was" is a proven fake: https://twitter.com/Zedd/status/632574054617124864

At first, Matthew Koma comes to mind, and then Miriam Bryant (the demo reminds me to Push Play for some reasons).

However, I found some pretty interesting submissions (and interesting titles, too):

Let It Be Now feat. Brenton Mattheus

Electric Sky feat. Koba (pitched downto the same key as Papercut)

Air feat. Kember

You Can't Hurt Me Now feat. Earon [First favourite]
