Hatsune Miku (初音 ミク) is a humanoid persona—a Vocaloid—voiced by a singing synthesizer application developed by Crypton Future Media, headquartered in Sapporo, Japan. She is codenamed CV01 and uses Yamaha Corporation's Vocaloid 2 and Vocaloid 3 singing synthesizing technologies, as well as Crypton Future Media's Piapro Studio, a singing synthesizer VSTi Plugin. Her voice is sampled from Japanese voice actress Saki Fujita (藤田 咲, Fujita Saki).

An English Hatsune Miku is featured as the main singer of the livetune Remix of Zedd's single "Spectrum", which is included on the Japanese edition of Clarity.

Trivia Edit

  • Her name comes from merging the Japanese words for first (初, hatsu), sound (音, ne) and future (ミク, Miku). According to Crypton, her name is meant to signify the "first sound from the future".
